Define Your Style

Sunday, November 7th, 2010

There are 5 main style types and you can be a combination of them as well. Can you find your fit?

Classic is very traditional and timeless. Simple. It is very ladylike and tailored. Think of Grace Kelly and Katherine Hepburn

Chic is very powerful. It is sometimes monochromatic. Great accessories are a must. Think Jackie Kennedy-Onassis and Audrey Hepburn

Whimsical or playful style can be very eclectic. At first look you may think it was just thrown together. You can get very creative with this style. Vintage clothing can also play a part in this look. Think Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City.

Bohemian is the upscale hippie or gypsy look. Earth tones play a big part as well as Ethnic fabrics. Natural fabrics like leather also play a role. It is a little funky and a throwback from the 60’s and 70’s. Unusual or unique accessories are great with this look. Think Stevie Nicks and Kate Hudson.

Avant-Garde or Modern are people who want to make a statement. A creative statement. If you like to make a dramatic statement with what you wear you are probably Avant-garde. Think Cate Blanchett.

You may also be a combination of a couple styles. I’m a Chic/Avant-garde. You could be chic for the office but bohemian in your casual look. Finding your style is the most important first step to having a great wardrobe.
