Be Confident in Your Fashion Choices ~ Mix it Up

Wednesday, July 27th, 2011

I recently met with a client who really did know her style. She knew she had a bohemian flair and that’s what she felt comfortable in. She had great pieces in her closet but didn’t know how to wear them.

Like many of my clients she would get stuck in the rut of wearing the same top and bottoms together and that gets old. This pattern can easily make you feel as if you have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. No one wants that.

The most important thing is how you feel in the ensemble. Not what do you think other people will think. If you feel fabulous, you will be confident and confidence exudes success. Everyone else will think you look great too.

If you’re not used to mixing and matching your clothes then this may seem awkward at first but practice makes perfect. Be patient. Grab a top and try pairing it with several different pieces in your closet. Don’t beat yourself up if you try something and it doesn’t look good try something else until you find at least one to two different styles. You can take pictures of yourself in the outfits if you’re afraid you won’t remember or think you may go back to wicked ways of wearing the same shirt with the same skirt.

Congratulations you have now expanded your wardrobe. Isn’t that fun?

Incredible Shrinking Clothes!

Have you seen those skinny velvet hangers around that claim to double your closet space? Have you wondered if they really work? Well, I tried them out on a section of my own closet and I’m here to show you that they really do work! The proof is in these pictures…

Now that you’ve been inspired, you can find these hangers on line, at your favorite box stores, or even at Costco (where they’re only $15 for a box of 50).

Start purging, re-hanging and creating that organized closet you’ve always dreamed about! Then go to my Facebook page and share your results. I’d love to see before and after photos, too. Let’s see who can come up with the most saved space!

Game on!

Wishing you a organized and productive week!

How to Hire the Perfect Image Consultant

Monday, April 11th, 2011

You may be thinking “I can’t hire an image consultant that would be too expensive”. Many people believe that an image consultant or personal stylist is only for the wealthy. Well I want to dispel that myth. There are affordable image consultants for the everyday person.

The blank 10 steps to finding the perfect image consultant.

  1. You want to research image consultants in your area.
  2. Ask your friends if they have ever used an image consultant.
  3. Interview your image consultant.
  4. Does he/she allow you to be authentic to your personality?
  5. Find someone who will teach you how to shop not just shop for you.
  6. You want to hire someone who challenges you to think in a new way when shopping. You don’t want to be stuck in a rut.
  7. You want someone who is honest but not mean.
  8. Do you feel comfortable with them? Do you click? Its all about connection.
  9. Get referrals and check out their testimonials
  10. Review their before and after pictures of clients.

The bottom line is you have to like them. Check there references and go with your gut instinct.

An image consultant can change your life in very positive way. It can make you more successful in your business and personal life and is well worth the investment.
